So I have just realised how far behind on blogging I am !! I will remedy that over the next few weeks as I have lots of lovely weddings to show you from the end of last year !!

First up are the wonderful nuptuals of Beverly & Stephen, in the FANTASTIC surroundings of Crom Castle in Fermanagh. The cermony took place in 'The West Wing' and my goodness what a wow location !! I couldn't believe my eyes when we got there, a photographers dream venue !

Beverly is actually my most organised Bride EVER, she booked me a full 2 years and 1 month in advance. Now thats what I call organised !!! Love it !!!

So I'm a bit behind on blogging at the moment, I'm right in the middle of crazy wedding season !! Not a bad complaint !!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Marie & Kevins nuptuals, in the fabulously sunny village of Howth. The sun was splitting the stones as I arrived at Maries. This day was made extra sweet by the fact that the Chief Bridesmaid was an old friend, and there was plenty of girly squeals upon meeting, lol.

There are two words that spring to mind when I think back on Marie & Kevins day and they are 'totes emosh' !! It was an emotion filled say from start to finish, happy tears and some sad too. Also the other most remarkable thing was time keeping. Holy Lord, I have never met such an on time Bride before. Determined to be walking up the aisle on time, I think we even caught the priest on the hop !!

After the ceremony and a photo shoot on the 'fishing' pier we headed to the lovely surrounds of Castleknock Hotel. The sun kept its hat on and we had a lovely afternoon outside on the veranda before the call for dinner. A fab day, definitely one to remember.

It seemed like a lifetime to go when Susan contacted me about her wedding to Alan, well my goodness it flew around, it happened yesterday. it always catches me on th hop, how quick names and stories come around again from the time of booking to the time of well doing !! There were to be a few familiar faces in the crowd at Sue and Alans wedding so I was looking forward to this one.

The weather Gods, thank goodness were on my side again yesterday. That lovely bit of cloud cover and mild and dry, score us !!

My phtographer buddy Ciara Drennan was covering the boys prep in Kilnamanagh and I headed to Rathangan to catch up with the ladies. All was in full swing with favour finishing, photoboard making and all sorts thrown into the bridal preparations. A little later than planned, ahem..... we headed for the picturesque Lady Chapel in Maynooth. Wow, it was my first time to shoot there, it had been on my list for a while, it didn't disappoint. Such a gorgeous little church, steeped in history and so romantic. Suited our couple very well.

After the ceremony we held a quick Family Photo Session as there was a bit of a drive ahead of us to the fab Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort, and people tend to scatter to the four winds once there are check-ins involved. Better to have them done and save everyone stress and precious reception time in the long run. A slight shower on our way over didn't dampen anyones optimism and we had a lovely Bridal shoot in the Manor House and the grounds of the Golf Course itself. I love shooting in Tulfarris, so many great locations and opportunities, its different every time.

Everyone was being well catered for back at the reception when we arrived back in our golf buggy. All the children (Groom and Best Man !!),loved it, they even gave the flower girls and page boys a little go !

With formalities over after the lovely short speeches, everyone was tucking into what looked and smelt like a fab evening meal as I took my leave. I hope you guys partied late into the night and had a ball !

Last Fridays wedding was such a treat for me, the Bride was getting ready 5 mins drive from me, the church one of my local parish churches and the hotel a 20 minute drive also. My Bride, Rhona was also super relaxed, which is always a major bonus and allows me to enjoy the day along with the couple.

St. Marys Church in Saggart has just recently gone through a major refurbishment with the roof being replaced. So it was in great shape for the ceremony. The weather gods were also looking like they were playing ball so we headed to Dunboyne Castle Hotel so as not to waste any time in getting all the outside photography completed.

Dunboyne Castle had their usual warm welcome awaiting Rhona and Kevin with bubbly and sambos for the hungry family members. We completed the family portraits on the steps of the old house before heading out into the gardens with the Bridal Party. We were done and dusted in no time at all and everyone could head back in to enjoy the hospitality and chat before dinner. Children were on their best behaviour as there were a lot of teachers floating round among the guests ;)

So yesterday it was the turn of the lovely Emma and Maurice to walk down the aisle in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel. When I arrived at Emmas, Make Up was finished by the lovely Tanya, who was double jobbing as she was also the Chief Bridesmaid :) Hair was in progress and the girls were lovely and relaxed. The weather was perfect, mild with a little cloud cover so no harsh shadows or squinting to be seen !! After some chatiing and some getting ready, well alot of chatting really, it was time to make our way to the hotel. 

We were warmly greeted on arrival by Rory and his fab team ! I have to give them an extra special mention, they were wonderful, and couldn't do enough for the Bridal Party, myself or the other wedding attendees. 10 out of 10 definitely due to them, great job guys.

I hooked up then with Doug the Videographer from Starmaker Promotions. Its always lovely to work alongside Doug, he's a gentleman !

After the short but sweet ceremony guest mingled in the foyer and bar, while we took a few minutes out for pics in the lovely little garden area beside the hotel. Time then for a very, very tasty dinner and the speeches. The main theme of the day was family and that definitely ran true during the speeches, along with a tear or two from myself !! I'm such a softie lol !!

Once all the formalities were over it was time for the party to get started. The band, Pink Champagne arrived and Cathal promised me that they would be ready to go in 15 minutes !! Something I had never witnessed before, but they were true to their word and they were ready to go 15 minutes later !! No wonder they were voted the Weddingsonline 2015 Wedding Band of the Year !! Afer the first dance sung by the couple's friend, Brendan, Pink Champagne kicked it off straight away toa  packed dancefloor.

This is definitely up there with my all time favourite weddings !!! A fab, relaxed couple, a gorgeous venue, a funny quirky crowd and a wee man that would remind you of the Jerry Maguire kid :)

Last Friday I high-tailed it to Mounrath and Roundwood House. Its a venue I haven't shot in before but one I was very much looking forward to shooting in. And it didn't dissapoint ! As you come up the lovely leafy drive the atmosphere of the place hits you. Its amazingly charming, rustic and most of all relaxed. It feels like your home. Hannah and her staff are warm and welcoming and look after you like you were their own.

After chats over Skype with Fiona and Craig it was lovely to finally meet in person. They are my first couple ever to do the 'First Look'. I was so excited when I realised !! It didn't dissapoint either :)

After a wonderful Humanist Ceremony, in front of Family and Friends in the grand Entrance Hall of Roundwood House, we headed into the sprawling gardens for photo fun. The were so many little hidey nooks and quirky locations, I found it hard to choose which ones to use, so we used pretty much most of them. And we had just set foot back inside the door before the rain came, happy days !!

Dinner was served in 'The Barn' and guests were treated to a fantastic spread. I have to say it was the best wedding meal I have ever had and I have partaken in more than my fair share over the past few years.

Once the speeches were finished we all rolled back over to the house with full tummies for a night of dancing and romancing. 

A fantastic day and thank you so much to Fiona & Craig for asking me to be part of it and to Hannah and your team for looking after us all so well !!

The sun shone all day !! Yahooo !!!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of an past work colleague of mine, and it definitely was a pleasure. Lots of conventions were broken and it really was a truely personal, no stress, chill out wedding day :)

The sun was splitting the stones as the guests began arriving at St. Patricks Church in Lucan. This I have to say is a little gem of a church. Behind the altar are beautiful ceiling high windows, a dream for a photographer such a myself with a penchant for working with natural light :) After a slight false start, up an aisle with no priest at the top of it, my Bride swept up it in her beautiful grecian style gown. I think that gown definitely set the tone for the day to come, beautiful and relaxed !

After a lovely ceremony and a balancing act by me on the church wall to get the group shot we headed to Leixlip Manor and Gardens . They, I think may be getting sick of the sight of me as it was my third wedding there in the space of a few short weeks. I love working there though, the walled gardens are fantastic and the house itself is beautiful and so welcoming ! Being a lovely sunny day most guests congegrated outside and chatted away happily until the dinner call, munching on lovely personalised M&M's. Myself and my Bride and Groom took a lovely walk through the gardens and a bit of off-roading also into the field too for some couple portraits.

Dinner time flew around (very tasty indeed !) and after lots of lovely chats and catch ups with old friends, it was time for the first dance. The band The Converse Allstars had the place rocking as I took my leave.
