  • Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort Wedding | Susan and Alan

It seemed like a lifetime to go when Susan contacted me about her wedding to Alan, well my goodness it flew around, it happened yesterday. it always catches me on th hop, how quick names and stories come around again from the time of booking to the time of well doing !! There were to be a few familiar faces in the crowd at Sue and Alans wedding so I was looking forward to this one.

The weather Gods, thank goodness were on my side again yesterday. That lovely bit of cloud cover and mild and dry, score us !!

My phtographer buddy Ciara Drennan was covering the boys prep in Kilnamanagh and I headed to Rathangan to catch up with the ladies. All was in full swing with favour finishing, photoboard making and all sorts thrown into the bridal preparations. A little later than planned, ahem..... we headed for the picturesque Lady Chapel in Maynooth. Wow, it was my first time to shoot there, it had been on my list for a while, it didn't disappoint. Such a gorgeous little church, steeped in history and so romantic. Suited our couple very well.

After the ceremony we held a quick Family Photo Session as there was a bit of a drive ahead of us to the fab Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort, and people tend to scatter to the four winds once there are check-ins involved. Better to have them done and save everyone stress and precious reception time in the long run. A slight shower on our way over didn't dampen anyones optimism and we had a lovely Bridal shoot in the Manor House and the grounds of the Golf Course itself. I love shooting in Tulfarris, so many great locations and opportunities, its different every time.

Everyone was being well catered for back at the reception when we arrived back in our golf buggy. All the children (Groom and Best Man !!),loved it, they even gave the flower girls and page boys a little go !

With formalities over after the lovely short speeches, everyone was tucking into what looked and smelt like a fab evening meal as I took my leave. I hope you guys partied late into the night and had a ball !

Here are some of my favourite images from the day.

  • Dunboyne Castle Hotel Wedding | Rhona and Kevin

Last Fridays wedding was such a treat for me, the Bride was getting ready 5 mins drive from me, the church one of my local parish churches and the hotel a 20 minute drive also. My Bride, Rhona was also super relaxed, which is always a major bonus and allows me to enjoy the day along with the couple.

St. Marys Church in Saggart has just recently gone through a major refurbishment with the roof being replaced. So it was in great shape for the ceremony. The weather gods were also looking like they were playing ball so we headed to Dunboyne Castle Hotel so as not to waste any time in getting all the outside photography completed.

Dunboyne Castle had their usual warm welcome awaiting Rhona and Kevin with bubbly and sambos for the hungry family members. We completed the family portraits on the steps of the old house before heading out into the gardens with the Bridal Party. We were done and dusted in no time at all and everyone could head back in to enjoy the hospitality and chat before dinner. Children were on their best behaviour as there were a lot of teachers floating round among the guests ;)

Here are a few of my favourite images from the day.

  • The Wedding of Teresa & Kieran........ Lexlip Manor and Gardens

The sun shone all day !! Yahooo !!!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of an past work colleague of mine, and it definitely was a pleasure. Lots of conventions were broken and it really was a truely personal, no stress, chill out wedding day :)

The sun was splitting the stones as the guests began arriving at St. Patricks Church in Lucan. This I have to say is a little gem of a church. Behind the altar are beautiful ceiling high windows, a dream for a photographer such a myself with a penchant for working with natural light :) After a slight false start, up an aisle with no priest at the top of it, my Bride swept up it in her beautiful grecian style gown. I think that gown definitely set the tone for the day to come, beautiful and relaxed !

After a lovely ceremony and a balancing act by me on the church wall to get the group shot we headed to Leixlip Manor and Gardens . They, I think may be getting sick of the sight of me as it was my third wedding there in the space of a few short weeks. I love working there though, the walled gardens are fantastic and the house itself is beautiful and so welcoming ! Being a lovely sunny day most guests congegrated outside and chatted away happily until the dinner call, munching on lovely personalised M&M's. Myself and my Bride and Groom took a lovely walk through the gardens and a bit of off-roading also into the field too for some couple portraits.

Dinner time flew around (very tasty indeed !) and after lots of lovely chats and catch ups with old friends, it was time for the first dance. The band The Converse Allstars had the place rocking as I took my leave.

Thanks so much Teresa & Kieran for asking me to cover your day !!

  • A sunny Springfield Session......

So at the end of a double wedding weekend to say the least I'm shattered !!

I started off in lovely Trim, Co. Meath on Friday for Lisa & Chris's big day. The weather forecast was favourable, sunny with a chance of a few showers so not too bad !!

Preparations were well underway at the house by the time I started coverage, a very organised lot altogether !! Champagne and bubbly raspberry (I kid you not !!) was in full flow. After a slight Bridesmaid dress hiccup we were all taped up and ready to hit the road :)

I had never been in St Patricks Church in Trim before, and wow what a magnificent building ! A real treat to shoot in !!

The beautiful Trim Castle was the setting for a lovely stroll with the Bridal party. Well when I say lovely stroll, it was a rather quick stroll as the ominous cloud hanging over us spat a few warnings out lol !!

We ended the day in the relaxing surroundings of the Springfield Hotel in Leixlip with the coolest cake I've seen in a while !! It certainly was a day the promised a Happily Ever After :) xxx

  • An intimate K-Club Celebration - Yvonne & Brian......

What a pleasure to be involved in this afternoons wedding. Chaufeurs, trains and automobiles..... and that was just me getting round the place !!

I love, love, love being involved in small weddings. You become part of them and its a fab thing. Todays wedding was my smallest yet 19 peeps and 2 gorgeous kiddos, my kinda day !

We kicked off in the Registry Office, for a lovely little intimate service. The ice being broken by the start of the day, flower girl and daughter of the Bride and Groom Robin's dance to the entrance song. Well whats a little girl going to do but twirl when she's wearing the ultimate princess outfit complete with diamonds on her shoes ....

We left the City Centre behind us and headed for the country side and the luxurious surroundings of the K-Club. Even though I only live 10 minutes drive from it, this was my first visit to the K-Club. And my goodness what have I been missing out on, the grounds are FAB-U-LOUS. Every corner revealing another gorgeous location for a Bridal Party shoot !! The W.B. Yeats room was ready and waiting for us with magnificent views of the garden, and the sun had popped its head out. What more could you ask for !!

Some days I am reminded of what a privilege it is to do what I do, today was one of those days.

  • A blustery Ballymagarvey Day......

So for Sharon & Brians Special day today the weather started out promising. The rain of the last few days gone and replaced by wind and cloud, not too bad ! The atmosphere in Sharons parents house was organised and relaxed, perfect ! The prep was well under way by the time I arrived, with Dad in charge of sustinance and refreshments. The plan, to head to Ballymagarvey early so that everyone could relax for a bit before the ceremony.

With everyone and everything packed up we spun down the N2 to Balrath, Co. Meath. And wow, wow, wow, wow, is all I can say. What a stunning venue !! Its been on my must-shoot-there-list as well for a long time and it definitely didn't disappoint, A-MAZ-ing !!!

Guest and boys in situ, it was then time to get the lovely Humanist Ceremony under way. I have to say I love the Humanist celerations. They are just brim full of meaning and so thoughfully put together. A real joy to be part of. Sharon and Brian's service was exactly that too :)

Ballymagarvey has a wealth of stunning spots for a wedding shoot, I was dying to try out them all. But unluckily for us the weather gods decided that enough was enough and 5 mins into our Bridal Party shots the rain came tumbling down. Hopeful for a break later we reluctantly headed inside.

Throughout the day we were expertly looked after by John, the Ballmagarvey Wedding Coordinator and the rest of the staff. A bit of sunshine indoors on such a damp day. None the less all the guest were settled in to the fantastic banquet hall by the time I was leaving and it looked like it was going to be a fun packed evening ahead. Hope you guys are dancing your socks off by now !!

  • Millhouse Memories - Sinéad & Erich ....

Well the first wedding of the season over and what a cracker !!! Couldn’t have wished for better !! The only slight hitch was the VERY wet weather that started the day off, but my weather guru ensured me that it was clearing for the afternoon and sure enough it did !! I had really been looking forward to this one as not only were Sinéad and Erich a lovely relaxed couple but the venue they had chosen for their reception was on my ‘must shoot there’ list, The Millhouse in Slane, and my goodness it didn’t disappoint.

When I arrived at Sinéads house the prep was well under way. The atmosphere was very calm and really organised :) The lovely ladies from Inga Cuzin Hair & Make-Up had everything running bang on schedule and all the girlies looking fab, especially my GORGEOUS Bride.

One of the first things on my to do list is to capture the dress and all its details before the Bride gets a chance to pop it all on :) Sinéad had chosen a beautiful lace gown, with alterations by her Aunt which was perfectly beautiful !! Simple accessories to finish off an outfit that suited her to perfection.

The only stage at all that I seen a little worry on Sinéads face was as we were leaving for the church and it was pouring with rain ! That worried look was short lived once we got underway. Erich looked splendid in his tails and was waiting patiently at the top of the aisle for us. Father John performed a wonderful ceremony. It was the first time I had witnessed a water ceremony and it was just gorgeous, such meaning, really special. It involved the Bride and Groom both pouring water from separate jars into a main bowl. That water was then blessed by the couple and by Father John. It was used to bless the rings and all the congregation as they were leaving the church. It is then keep and used for any future christening ceremonies the couple may have. Just gorgeous !

After getting stuck in a bit of nasty traffic we finally arrived in The Millhouse !! Its even more fabulous than I imagined !! As some of my past couples might remember I squeal when I’m really excited by a venue, there was lots of squealing yesterday lol !! And miracle of miracles, as predicted by my weather guru the sun peaked its way out and shown warmly for the rest of the afternoon and evening. as Del-Boy would say - ‘perfick’ !

Seriously though anyone considering The Millhouse as their venue, I can only say, go for it. Not only is it a spectacular location the staff were fantastic yesterday. Looked after every need anyone had, like a home from home. Honourable mention goes to Wedding Coordinator extraordinaire Aidan !! Fab job !!

After a sumptuous meal everyone danced the night away to the sounds of ‘After Dark’. It was my first time hearing them and they certainly had the dance floor rocking from the very first song ! I really wanted to stay and boogie, they were that good, but it had been a long day and to be honest I was pooped !!

All in all a fantastic day and what a way to start my 2015 Wedding Season, there will be a lot to live up to this year !!
